Often it is found that there is a big generation gap between parents and teenagers. Teen is the age when a child goes through a lot of changes. For example, physical changes, mental changes and social changes. This is a challenging phase for the parents. Their intention is always to protect their children from all odds. • To know your teenager child you need to know his/her strength and weaknesses. 
• Channelize them as soon as they enter the world of teens. For example engage them in music classes, sports practise, swimming classes, painting etc.
  
• Listen to them patiently, they are more important than any other work.
• If you find your child is getting addicted to something like playing virtual games. Don't panic, make him/her aware of the consequences by reading out the news paper clippings or posts etc.
• Go for shopping together and respect their views. Allow them to handle your wallet and make payments. 
  
• Go for a trip during vacations, so that you can spend a lot of time with your teen friend.
• Try adventurous sports with them like trekking, skating, paragliding, etc.
  
• Create a proper ambience to make him/her comfortable at home. For example: The colour of the wall, curtains, study table, night lamp etc.
• Prepare food according their taste and interest. If not always then atleast once or twice a week. 
• Do not scold  for their mistakes. Give them a chance to explain, rather counsel them.
